U.S. Senate confirms state’s top appellate lawyer to federal bench
Read Article The U.S. Senate on Wednesday confirmed the state's top appellate lawyer, Anthony Powell, to a seat on the federal bench in Kansas, meaning that President Donald Trump will have appointed all six federal judges in Kansas. The Senate voted 50-44 to confirm Powell, who will be joined on the bench by Kansas Bureau of Investigation Director Tony Mattivi and Great Bend lawyer Jeffrey Kuhlman, who Trump nominated to the bench at the same time.
