Legislature overrides governor’s veto of measure restricting student walkouts

Read Article The Kansas Legislature on Friday overturned the governor's veto of a budget measure punishing school districts that allow or encourage student walkouts that have to led to an increasing number of protests over immigration enforcement in recent weeks. The House voted 87-36 to override the governor's veto. The Senate voted 27-12 for the override. Democratic Sen. Patrick Schmidt of Topeka was absent and didn't vote. The
